As part of our dedication to reducing green house gas emissions, Essex has purchased a hybrid Toyota Prius and a 14 passenger bus that utilizes B20 biodiesel fuel. The addition of both the bus and the Prius to our fleet signifies our dedication to increasing our energy efficiency and reducing our carbon footprint.
Along with the purchase of the vehicles, Essex has also implemented a rigorously monitored fleet maintenance plan that ensures the cleanest possible emissions and has established a no idling policy and speed restrictions for drivers.
We are already seeing the benefits that energy efficiency presents. Even seemingly small steps taken such as stopping unnecessary idling can have profoundly positive effects on our environment.
